There are many articles on all aspects of the golf game, But very few on downswing tips. There is more emphasis on your stance, grip, address and much more. Although these very important, the downswing is where it all must come together if you want to hit a good shot.
The downswing is where the body uncoils and releases the power and club head speed needed for those monster drives. You must accomplish this with a smooth transition from the backswing. Some golfers will stars thus transition by jerking the club, Which will throw the body out of line and cause you to slice or hook the ball.
This down swing tip has an easy fix, you need to pause at the top of your backswing for just a split second. You also must not lead with your hands, you will lose power and accuracy if you do, you should start your downswing with your hips, followed bu your arms, hands, shoulders and then your body. By following this method, you will add yards and accuracy to your shots.
As you have probably heard a thousand times, you must keep your head down and behind the ball at impact. If your head ends up ahead of the ball, you will have the tendency of pulling the club head off its target line. Which means you will probably spend some time in the woods or tall grass looking for your ball.
Our final downswing tip is about clubhead speed. As you transition from the top of your backswing to the start of the downswing, you must increase clubhead speed all the way through the hitting zone. You must be sure to follow through to end your golf swing. To master this downswing tip, you must spend time at the driving range and practice. A smooth downswing will increase the distance you hit your clubs, and improve your accuracy. So be patient and see you on the course!
