You Can Break 80

Do you want to know how you can break 80?  Most golfers would love to break 80. There are many aspects to the golf game that you can improve on to lower your scores. 80 is the golf score most golfers seek to surpass.  These tips will hopefully get you closer to that goal.

Most golfers, during there round, will have the opportunity to hit a wide variety of golf shots, from wedge shots to drives and everything in between.  It is these drive shots that we are going to concentrate on in this article.

You can use any club from the tee box from wedges to your driver. The tee box is where you drive the ball from, its your first shot on every hole and its where you can lose most strokes. If you hit a serious slice into the trees, you could easily lose two to three shots.

If you want to know how you can break 80, your going to have to control your tee shots on a consistent basis. If you can hit the fairway with your drives, you will have a much better chance of reaching your goals. If your going to break 80, you have to get more birdies and pars, keeping out of trouble will give that chance.  You must learn distance control , you do not always have to rip it off of the tee.

Tee box tips

One of the best ways to get better at driving  from the tee box is to practice. By practicing, you will find what works for you. You need to have a variety of tee shots you can use depending on the conditions and what your goals are for that hole.  You need to experiment with tee height, start high and work your way down to low tee height. The lower the tee, the more control you will have on the ball.

Another tip so you can break 80 is for you to try different hand level positions on the shaft. This will give you better control from the tee box. The lower your hands are on the shaft the more control of the club you will have.

Another tip that is crucial, is to practice off of the tee with all the clubs you feel you will use, from wedge to driver. You must be able to hit off of the tee with all the clubs you would need on a given hole, including par 3′s.

You know you can break 80 if you can keep the ball in play. Its not always best to hit the ball far unless you can control the shot. It will do you know good if you can hit the ball 300 yards if you end up in some hazard. You do not want to give up control for distance.

The main thing to do is just practice. You will not learn these skills in a couple of practice sessions, it will take time and persistence. Over time these new skills will become habit and you will be breaking 80 consistently. So, keep practicing and see you on the course!
